December 2022. I woke up this morning realizing that my first art actions, before I joined the art school in Grenoble, were made in 2012. That was 10 years ago, times flies. Maybe it’s the right moment to look back on those years and reconsider the how and why all this went through?

2012 is the year when I told myself "ok, now I am really going to give some effort into doing art." As a matter of fact I had already done stuff before, for example in 2009 I already took evening classes in the art school of Grenoble ("installation" classes), but I had a full-time professional activity in parallel. 2012 was the big, transformative year tho, the one where I passed the entrance exams, where I joined the school, where I met Christophe and other people who I became close...

Now in 2022, it’s the end of a cycle, I am in a way back to the beginnings, again I have a technical work outside of the art world, and I have a creative side that I struggle to express. To be honest I didn’t really manage to set afoot in the art world, I tried for 3 years after my studies to apply for projects, art residences, etc. but afterwards I did kind of let go and in 2021 I finished the final exhibition that I had managed to get with that work. As a matter of fact, I never felt really at ease in the art world, but I managed to keep some friends there.

So the websites on this URL reflected this. The first version was your average young artist online portfolio. The second one, released in 2018, rose against the cult of image and self-promotion in the art world. That website was created with Notepad and was without images, and it also aimed at being something more handmade, away from the very codified social network aesthetics.

This is the third iteration, and I wish to be more laid back and to go back to the roots of why I moved towards creation, what moved me there, that is on the one hand the computer, and on the other hand, the storytelling. The computer enabled the talentless child that I thought I was (as I was unable to draw, paint or do anything "artsy"), to create things. This combined with stories I read, became a powerful tool to get me eager to invent and create my own stories.

I think the objective of this final iteration is to look back into the past and present some things I’ve done with computers over the years, but also look forward and think about what and how I want to tell stories. This website will hopefully be more comfortable with me being far away from the art world, but it’s not going to be the website of an independent developer showing his technical skillz.
